Vince
is an active member of the Longhouse religious tradition and his
artwork reflects his involvement and understanding. He usually
uses steatite for his carvings. It is found in Ontario and in
areas along the American East Coast. Steatite has a talc base with
an iron ore presence, which gives it a rich earthy colour. Often
it is confused with wood, due to the attractive grain that is
frequently found in the stone.
