This
sculptured vessel is an original and contemporary piece of Iroquois
pottery. The faces are singing or chanting thanks, recognition and
appreciation to the life forces of the creation. The turtle (clan)
symbolizes North America or “Turtle Island”. The woodland flower
symbolizes life, health, growth and fertility. The “guardian
eagle” symbolizes strength; vision and courage, being the most
respected or revered birds in Iroquois mythology. The spirals
symbolize natural energy as our galaxy was formed in a spiral. The
herons are a clan and symbolize patience.
